New Mexico calls for Congress Read the editorial and

Dear Supporter,
Last weekend, New Mexico became only the second state in the country to pass a resolution calling on Congress for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, the Supreme Court ruling that allows corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence our elections. I was proud to have co-sponsored this resolution.
Next, two-thirds of Congress and three-fourths of states will have to pass such an amendment. While this may seem like a tall order, it’s not impossible. It’s going to take your involvement in this year’s elections and beyond.
Thanks to people like you, New Mexico already stands ready to do this (see my recent editorial about it and support our efforts). So far in the 112th Congress, lawmakers have introduced 13 constitutional amendment proposals, and dozens more are being debated in state legislatures.
Will you help send me to Washington so that I can join other progressives to restore the ethics and campaign finance laws that our country needs?
